1. Introduction By engaging the services of Gemma Larke, herein referred to as "the Celebrant," and paying the deposit, you, the client(s), agree to the following terms and conditions. These terms and conditions govern the provision of celebrant services for your ceremony.
2. Non-Legally Binding Ceremonies Please note that the ceremonies conducted by the Celebrant are not legally binding in England and Wales. To have a legally recognized marriage, you must undertake a separate legal ceremony at a Registry Office or other legally recognized venue before or after your ceremony with the Celebrant.
3. Booking and Deposit A non-refundable deposit of £350 is required to secure the Celebrant's services for your chosen wedding date and time. Fees vary for other services. By paying the deposit, you confirm your acceptance of these terms and conditions. The remaining balance is due 4 weeks prior to the ceremony date.
4. Services Provided The Celebrant will work with you to create a personalized ceremony that reflects your wishes and beliefs. This includes an initial consultation, drafting and revising the ceremony script, and conducting the ceremony on the agreed date.
5. Changes and Cancellations
Changes: Any changes to the ceremony date, time, or location must be communicated to the Celebrant as soon as possible. The Celebrant will make reasonable efforts to accommodate changes, but availability cannot be guaranteed.
Cancellations: If you need to cancel the ceremony, the following refund policy applies:
Cancellation more than 4 weeks before the ceremony: 100% refund of the balance paid (excluding the deposit).
Cancellation less than 4 weeks before the ceremony: no refund.
6. Client Responsibilities
Ensure all necessary legal marriage requirements are met separately from the ceremony with the Celebrant.
Provide accurate and timely information to the Celebrant to facilitate the planning and execution of the ceremony.
Communicate any special requests or requirements to the Celebrant as early as possible.
7. Celebrant's Responsibilities
Conduct the ceremony professionally and respectfully.
Arrive at the ceremony location at the agreed time.
Provide a draft ceremony script for your review and approval.
8. Liability The Celebrant is not liable for any damages, costs, or losses incurred as a result of changes, delays, or cancellations of the ceremony. The Celebrant's total liability is limited to the amount paid for the services.
9. Force Majeure The Celebrant is not responsible for any failure to perform services due to circumstances beyond their control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, or other emergencies.
10. Governing Law These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms and conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
11. Acceptance of Terms By paying the deposit, you acknowledge and accept these terms and conditions and understand that the ceremony conducted by the Celebrant is not legally binding. You agree to undertake all necessary legal steps to be legally wed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
